Form 130 API availability and prerequisites (formerly Form 16)

Form 130 is the TDS certificate for salary, pension, and specified senior citizen interest under the Income-tax Act, 2025. It corresponds to Form 16 under the earlier rules. See the Income Tax Department’s Form 130 FAQs for the statutory requirements.

When is Form 130 available?

Form 130 becomes available after the tax year ends, once TRACES has processed the corresponding Form 138 statement. Form 130 is an annual certificate covering the completed tax year.

Before you request Form 130 certificates

• Confirm that the certificates are available on TRACES before submitting a job.
• Obtain a Sandbox access token using the Quickstart guide.
• Add TRACES credentials for the TAN.

Request and download certificates

The submit certificate job endpoint uses 130 in the certificate_type path parameter and "130" in the JSON form field. The response returns a job_id. Use the job_id to check the certificate job status. When the status is succeeded, download the ZIP files from data.certificate_pdf_zip_urls.
