This page lists the official NIC master values used in Sandbox Generate e-Invoice requests. Use each code only with its named field; a code from one list is not valid for another field. For the separate E-Way Bill values, see E-Way Bill master data.

Request field index

State codes

Use these values in the state-code fields listed above. NIC publishes separate legacy rows for codes 25 and 26, plus the special rows 96, 97, and 99. State code 28 is absent from NIC’s published list.

Country codes

Use these values in ExpDtls.CntCode and ItemList[].OrgCntry.

Port codes

Use these values in ExpDtls.Port. Select by port code: all 1,061 published port codes are unique, while 60 port names repeat across 139 rows.

Currency codes

Use these values in ExpDtls.ForCur. NIC publishes BDT twice under two labels. BDT is one currency code, but both rows appear below exactly as published.

UQC codes

Use these values in ItemList[].Unit.

Pincode state mapping pattern

This is a NIC reference pattern for the first three pincode digits, not deterministic validation. NIC publishes 39 rows for 35 distinct state codes, and its ranges overlap at 160, 244-263, 362 and 396, 533, and 737. The mapping omits codes 36 and 38, as well as the special codes 96, 97, and 99. For an ambiguous or omitted pincode, use the authoritative India Post Locate Post Office lookup instead of inferring a range.
